Ms. Thompson has extensive trial experience. In the past five years, she has litigated over 20 evidentiary hearings before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky in adversary proceedings and contested matters including evidentiary hearings on appointment of Chapter 11 Trustees, Chapter 11 plan confirmation, change of venue, non-dischargeability and approval of asset sales. Prior to that, Ms. Thompson litigated more than 20 bench trials and more than 10 jury trials in commercial litigation actions before state and federal judges in both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. Liz was Shareholder and Vice President (1987 to 1995) of the Lexington office of a commercial law firm. She managed that office and served as senior litigation attorney. Liz is listed in The Best Lawyers in America®(2007-2010). She is also certified as a specialist in business bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. She serves on the Kentucky Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee. The University of Kentucky Law Alumni Association awarded Ms. Thompson its Professional Achievement Award in 2009. Liz serves on the boards of Women Leading Kentucky and the Fayette County Women Lawyers' Association; was in the 2004 Class of Leadership Kentucky; is active in Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary parish and volunteers at Catholic Action Center. Liz enjoys working out, flower gardening and spending time with her husband and two college-aged sons.

Liz Thompson is a Member of the firm based in its Lexington office. Her practice focuses on the representation of substantial claimants, purchasers of assets, creditors' committees and debtors in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, commercial litigation and representation of lenders in loan restructurings and work-outs. She joined the firm in 1995, recently served on its Management Committee, is head of its Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Service Group and developed and facilitates its associate mentoring program.Recent Assignments
