Following law school, Warren entered the United States Navy where he served as a Judge Advocate General for three years. He was a partner with Farris, Warfield & Kannady, which merged with Stites & Harbison in 2001. Warren has served on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau and as chair of the College Cabinet of Vanderbilt University. He has been an active fundraiser for Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt Law School, Harpeth Hall School, Harding Academy and other local charities. Warren has also chaired a number of committees for Belle Meade United Methodist Church. He is listed in the The Best Lawyers in America® (2007-2010), was named in the 2007 Mid-South Super Lawyers magazine and named to the Nashville Business Journal's "Best of the Bar" in 2008. Warren plays a number of musical instruments including fiddle, guitar and mandolin. He is a fan of college and professional sports and enjoys golf and cooking.
