NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 30, 2006)—Stites & Harbison announced today that eight of the attorneys in the Nashville, Tenn., office have been named by the Nashville Business Journal as Best of the Bar for 2006.
The Nashville Business Journal started publishing Best of the Bar in 2003. The award recognizes excellence in the legal community. The winners were nominated by their peers and selected from among 1,000 nominations. This year's honorees for Best of the Bar will be profiled in the August 18, 2006, edition of the Nashville Business Journal.
Stites & Harbison's Best of the Bar honorees for 2006 include:
Katherine Simpson Allen (Banking & Finance)
Ms. Allen is a member of the firm and practices with the Business & Finance Service Group. Her practice focus is on commercial transactions, with emphasis in commercial financial services, credit facilities, securitization, vendor financing and bankruptcy and creditors' rights.
Julian L. Bibb (Banking & Finance)
Mr. Bibb is a member of the firm and is part of the Real Estate & Banking Service Group. His practice focuses primarily on banking and includes various credit facilities. Among these are the documentation of syndicated credit facilities, agent-administered loans, multi-currency borrowings, synthetic lease transactions, asset-based loans, real estate financing, non-profit and charitable institution credit facilities, and the extension of credit to varied types of businesses.
Robert C. Goodrich, Jr. (Banking & Finance)
Mr. Goodrich is a member of the firm and part of the Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Group. For over 20 years, he has represented creditors, creditors' committees, landlords, and other interested parties in bankruptcy and insolvency related matters in state and federal courts. He also assists in the formation of complex financial transactions with a view toward the consequences of insolvency.
B. Riney Green (Mergers & Acquisitions)
Mr. Green is a member of the firm and practices with the Banking & Finance Service Group. He has more than 20 years of experience handling sophisticated business transactions and frequently serves as the lead lawyer in major merger and acquisition transactions. His practice includes representation of clients in corporate, commercial and securities law matters.
Jeffrey R. King (Real Estate)
Mr. King is a member of the firm and is part of the Real Estate & Banking Service Group. His practice focuses on real estate, zoning, planning and land use, commercial transactions and banking. He also assists in the purchase, sale and leasing of property.
James G. Martin, III (Dispute Resolution)
Mr. Martin is a member of the firm and is part of the Trust & Estate Planning/Domestic Service Group. His practice focus is on domestic relations cases (divorce, child custody, interstate custody disputes, child support and similar matters).
Barbara J. Moss (Employment & Labor)
Ms. Moss is counsel with the firm and a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. Her practice focuses on business litigation, employment litigation and counseling, and alternative dispute resolution. She has tried cases and defended and prosecuted appeals in state and federal courts across Tennessee as well as in administrative agencies.
Pamela A. Taylor (Domestic)
Ms. Taylor is a member of the firm and practices with the Trust & Estate Planning/Domestic Service Group. Her practice focus is on Family Law matters such as divorce, custody, and post divorce issues. She has practiced domestic relations law for 25 years, handling all manner and complexity of matters. Ms. Taylor previously practiced in Georgia and Massachusetts and has practiced in Tennessee for 20 years.
